On this day 10 years ago, the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) commissioned six Saab JAS 39C/D fighters and the 340 Airborne Early Warning aircraft into service at Wing 7, Surat Thani.
The Gripen replaces the F-5E/F at 701 squadron while the Saab 340 entered service with 702 squadron.
