Consolidation Package Step Two and Three, Phase 1 Contract’s most important features will enable Typhoon to operate the Meteor beyond-visual-range, air-to-air missile while transferring the capability from the existing M-Scan radar to the new E-Scan radar.

Aspects of the package include better Brimstone precision air-to-surface operations on Typhoon as well as new cockpit-display formats, enhanced interoperability through the development of the MIDS Link 16, radio, and updated Defensive Aids Subsystem (DASS).

With this contract, the four core Nations customers will have their unique needs met while export customers will benefit from a consistent harmonized package, creating a baseline for future capability development.

Most of the capability development activity will be carried out within the Eurofighter Partner Companies – BAE Systems, Airbus Germany, Airbus Spain, and Leonardo – but important aspects will also be undertaken by the broader supply base, specifically EuroRadar and EuroDASS.
