Russian spy satellite Kosmos-2551 re-entered the Earth’s atmosphere and burn up over the American Midwest on Oct. 20.
Observers on the ground saw the satellite burning up in a giant fireball.
Kosmos-2551 was launched into space on Sept. 9 and failed shortly afterwards.
