Loading StormBreaker on the F-15E takes more time compared to other munitions

Loading the GBU-53/B StormBreaker on the F-15E takes more time compared to other munitions due to the requirement to load encrypted communication information into the bomb’s computer.

This was revealed by 1st Lt. Estefania Ortiz-Santiago from the U.S. Air Force’s 391st Fighter Squadron.

Recently, the squadron became the first operational unit to use the GBU-53/B during WSEP (Weapon System Evaluation Program) on Nov. 2. Four F-15Es engaged four ground moving targets with the StormBreaker.
