South Korea sticks with MAH for its Marine Corps

After much procrastination, South Korea has decided that the Marine Attack Helicopter (MAH) proposed by Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) is the platform that will meet the requirements of its Marine Corps for an attack helicopter.

The Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) gave KAI a $303 million contract to develop its MAH and the company has 46 months to come up with three prototypes.

“The development of landing attack helicopters through this project is expected to increase the strength of landing operations and secure the capability of three-dimensional high-speed landing capabilities,” a DAPA official was quoted as saying.
