France has bought a single GQM-163A that will support the validation of a French weapons system.

Orbital Receives 19-Vehicle Production Contract From U.S. Navy For "Coyote"
Orbital Sciences Corporation has received the first full production order from the U.S. Navy for 19 GQM-163A "Coyote" Supersonic Sea-Skimming Target (SSST) missiles.

This is the program's first full-rate production contract.

MQM-8G Vandal program: Final four shot end an era
The last four MQM-8G Vandals were launched on 27 & 28 July from NAVAIR's Point Mugu Sea Test Range.

The Vandals act as supersonic targets, simulating anti-ship missile threats. The U.S. Navy is replacing the Vandal with the GQM-163A Coyote.

Orbital Successfully Completes Final Developmental Flight for U.S. Navy's ''Coyote'' Sea-Skimming Target Missile
Orbital Sciences Corporation announced that it successfully flight-tested the final development vehicle in the U.S. Navy's GQM-163A "Coyote" Supersonic Sea-Skimming Target (SSST) system for the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) on April 22, 2005. During this most recent mission, the GQM-163A vehicle achieved cruise velocity of Mach 2.5 while traveling approximately 15 meters above the sea surface.

Orbital Completes Fourth Successful Flight Test For U.S. Navy's "COYOTE" Sea-Skimming Target Missile
Orbital Sciences Corporation announced Mar. 25 that it successfully flight-tested the U.S. Navy's GQM-163A "Coyote" Supersonic Sea-Skimming Target (SSST) system for the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) on March 24, 2005. The flight test was the fourth consecutive successful flight and it demonstrated a 15-Foot low altitude performance and high-G maneuvers.

Orbital's 'Coyote' Supersonic Sea-Skimming Target Missile Successfully Launched for U.S. Navy
Orbital Sciences Corporation announced today that it carried out another successful flight test of the GQM-163A Supersonic Sea-Skimming Target (SSST) system for the United States Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) on August 27, 2004. The flight test, conducted at the Navy's missile test range in southern California, is part of a series of flights Orbital will conduct under the company's SSST Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) contract from NAVAIR.
