Marine officials say they've found cause of V-22 accident (Free Registration)
Investigators of the MV-22 hard landing in North Carolina last month say they now understand what happened but are not sure why it happened.
Investigation shows the FADEC suddenly sent fuel surging into the engines to increase power and the aircraft’s flight control computer automatically adjusted the pitch. This lifted the aircraft 6 feet above the ground. The backup engine controls sensed the problem, reduced power and the plane landed hard.
