Russia Not to Profit on Il-76 Deliveries to China
Russia has suspended the contract to deliver 34 Il-76MD military transport aircraft and four Il-78 tankers to China.
Ilyushin Aviation Complex General Director Viktor Livanov said delivering the aircraft at the price set during the signing of contract in 2005 will result in hefty financial losses.
The high cost has been attributed to using Uzbek Tashkent Aviation and Production Association as a subcontractor.
