U.S. to test missile defense system at a decisive moment
This Thursday between 8 a.m. and noon Pacific Daylight Time, the U.S. Missile Defense Agency will carry out a ballistic missile intercept over the Pacific Ocean.
This test's objective will be to gauge the overall effectiveness of the Ground-based Midcourse Defense system.
It will use the engagement radar at Beale Air Force Base with an Aegis radar and the Sea-borne X-Band radar tracking but not participating as well.
