66 Hawks were finally ordered first and 22 were supplied Ex UK and 44 were to be CKD built at HAL. DESO had done the negotiations and oiled the machinery but HAL could not deliver Hawks as planned ……DESO closed down on allegations of corruption and many Indians had benefitted too. Its cistomary in Defence deals world over and in India for sure.
The second 57 Hawk order has been langusiheing for long as 40 are for the IAf Requirments and 17 for the Navy and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd HAL complaints seem remedied in the Indian fashion of defence deals. . The new deal has been oiled, people were pleased at Farnborough Air Show where Minister Raju was, and PM David Cameron should announce the deal when he comes end July with a large entourage and will visit HAL. The basic trianing of pilots is in a mess with HPTT 32 grounded ..Its JUGAD. New trainers were competing at Farnborough.
