Officials from the Eurofighter consortium have been telling attendees at the Farnborough Air Show that the F-35 is not a fighter at all.
Instead its a strike aircraft that is successor to the A-10 rather than the F-16.

The F35 is an excellent fighter castrated by the wish for attacking abilities after development 🙂 but I don’t know how much the radar signature is effected by the bomb mount points.
