The U.S. Navy has suspended testing of the AGM-88E Advanced Anti Radiation Guided Missile (AARGM) built by Alliant Techsystems.
Testing stopped Sept. 3 following 6 software or circuit-card failures in the first 12 trials. A total of 100 flights are planned to assess the missile’s ability to destroy enemy radars.
Captain Brian Corey, the Navy’s manager for the program, said in an e-mail that three “minor” software updates are planned to fix the problems.
