The first two F-35s that are supposed to be deployed to Eglin Air Force Base this month will now go to Edwards instead.
“The additional time was needed to make aircraft modifications to support testing. While at Edwards, the two aircraft (AF-6/AF-7) will accrue flight hours and supplement Block 1.0 mission avionics flight test,” Joe DellaVedova, a spokesman for the Joint Strike Fighter program office, said in an e-mail.
