The RAF Harrier GR9s from IV Squadron have made their last official flights from RAF Wittering and will depart for good to RAF Cottesmore.

Russia abandons plan to build new aircraft carriers

Russia has made a u-turn on building new aircraft carriers for its navy. Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyokov confirmed an Interfax report that there is no money to build aircraft carriers.

Japan plans to replace PAC-2 with PAC-3

Tokyo plans to swap PAC-2 missiles stationed across the country with the PAC-3. Currently only three air defense missile groups have the missiles.

The other RSAF to setup F-15 training squadron at Mountain Home

There will be two RSAF F-15 training detachments at Mountain Home AFB. One Saudi and the other Singaporean. The USAF just announced that Mountain Home will be hosting a proposed contingent of 12 F-15SA aircraft.

USN’s electromagnetic railgun hits 33-megajoule

The Office of Naval Research fired its electromagnetic railgun on Friday at a record setting 33-megajoule. This translate to firing a projectile at a target 110 nautical miles away.
