It has emerged that B-1B bombers from the 28th Bomb Wing at Ellsworth Air Force Base were launched early Sunday to strike targets in Libya.
This is the first time that B-1Bs have been launched from continental U.S. to strike targets overseas.

Are you sure that this is the first time B-1Bs have been launched from CONUS to attack targets overseas?
I thought they were used in Afghanistan.

Not sure. I did a quick check and found nothing. I do know they were flown out of Diego Garcia for Afghan missions.
