Elbit Systems’s Brazilian subsidiary, AEL, has been awarded a follow-on contract by Embraer Defense and Security to upgrade eleven Brazilian Air Force F-5s.

India issues RFI for medium-range surface-to-air missiles

India has issued a RFI this week for medium-range surface-to-air missiles to defend the country’s vital installations. India had signed a deal with Israel in 2009 for 18 units of medium-range surface-to-air missile system. This new procurement is over and above that deal.

Israel may buy second-hand F-15s due to delays with F-35

Jerusalem Post reports that Israel is mulling the option of getting a squadron of used F-15s from the U.S. Air Force as the F-35 will not be available until 2018.

U.S. State Department helps Ukraine eliminate SCUD Missile System

The U.S. Department of State has assisted the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in safely eliminating the SCUD missile system in Ukraine. The project was concluded on Apr. 11.

Sudanese Mi-24 crashed

A Sudanese Mi-24 helicopter crashed on Wednesday morning while departing the military airport in Khartoum. One person was killed.
