U.S. Air Force loaning out 1,716 Sony PlayStation 3 consoles
The U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory has been using a supercomputer cluster consisting of 1,716 Sony PlayStation 3 consoles, 168 general purpose GPUs and 78 computer servers to analyze spy plane imagery and text. Now the cluster is being made available to universities to conduct research.

OH-58D pilot dies after crash-landing in Afghanistan
An OH-58D Kiowa pilot has died after his helicopter crashed Saturday in Afghanistan. Chief Warrant Officer 2 Terry L. Varnadore II was assigned to the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade.
