MH-60 dumped two Sea Sparrow into sea, USN plans to detonate them

A U.S. Navy MH-60 Seahawk was forced to dump two RIM-7P Sea Sparrow missiles it was carrying off the coast of Camp Pendleton on Aug. 30 after the missiles started to swing and hit the aircraft.

The missiles were being transferred from Camp Pendleton to USS Bonhomme Richard when the incident happened.

The U.S. Navy now plans to detonate the missiles underwater between Monday and Wednesday.
