Japan launches new spy satellite

A Japanese spy satellite was put into orbit by a H-2A rocket on Friday. It will replace the second of three spy satellites Japan currently have in orbit.

Qatar eyes stake in EADS

Qatar could be buying a 7.5 percent stake in EADS, Der Spiegel reports. The Gulf state is eying the shares that Daimler wants to dispose of.

MH-60 dumped two Sea Sparrow into sea, USN plans to detonate them

A U.S. Navy MH-60 Seahawk was forced to dump two RIM-7P Sea Sparrow missiles it was carrying off the coast of Camp Pendleton on Aug. 30 after the missiles started to swing and hit the aircraft.

Aerolinee Itavia Flight 870 may have been downed by missile

The mysterious crash of Aerolinee Itavia Flight 870 off the island of Ustica in 1980 may have been caused by missile or near-collision with a military aircraft, an Italian judicial panel has ruled.
