Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense has refuted a media report that the planned F-16A/B upgrade will not include new engines and reduced JDAM kits.
The China Times reported Monday that the cost of upgrading the jets are higher than what Taiwan had budgeted for so the Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-220E engine will be procured. The report added that the number of Joint Direct Attack Munition kits will be reduced.
