Turkish Stars F-5 crashed, pilot killed
An F-5 belonging to Turkish Air Force aerobatics team, Türk Yıldızları, crashed in the central Anatolian province of Konya on Tuesday. Reports say the pilot was killed.

U.S. Defense Secretary in Kyrgyzstan to seek continue use of air base
US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta flew into Kyrgyzstan on Tuesday to secure the use of Manas air base beyond July 2014. Washington wants to keep Manas as a transit point when they pull out of Afghanistan in future.

Lt. Gen. Charles R. Davis, who ran the F-35 program office from Jul. 2006 to May 2009, has been nominated for the post of Military Deputy, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition.
