H/T to Arms Control Wonk. Chief of the Royal Saudi Air Force had confirmed the sale of Storm Shadow cruise missile to U.S. Assistant Secretary for Political-Military Affairs Andrew Shapiro in October 2009, according to a WikiLeaks cable.
Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Al-Faisal had hoped to convince Washington to sell the SLAM-ER to equip his F-15s since the Tornado is now armed with the Storm Shadow.
