Hürriyet Daily News reports that Turkey is having problems maintaining a constant number of Heron UAVs airborne due to a lack of trained operators.
The problem stems from the late delivery of aircraft. They were supposed to be delivered in 2007 but did not arrive till 2011. Pilots and technicians that were trained had lost their skills over time and had to be retrained.
