A USAF C-17 that was suppose to land at MacDill Air Force Base landed at a small private airport four miles away instead.
The C-17, carrying 23 passengers, plus a crew of 19, nearly overshot the 3,400 feet runway at Peter O. Knight airport on Davis island.
The Air Mobility Command says its working with the airport officials to move the jet so that the airport can be reopened.
