Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Yang Yujun said the country’s Z-10 attack helicopter was independently developed.
“China’s attack helicopters and their engines are all self-developed, and have proprietary intellectual property rights, ” said Yang, adding that the so-called piracy “is far from truth.”
Pratt & Whitney Canada and Hamilton Sundstrand Corp were fined last month by the U.S. government for helping China develop the Z-10’s engine.
