A new Air Force One and Marine One will be inducted into service after 2020. Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition Frank Kendall has signed an “acquisition decision” memo to kick start the process.
The U.S. Air Force is expected to release a RFP in 2015 and award the contract in 2016. The new aircraft will then be scheduled to enter service in 2023.
