Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense has refuted media reports that it will lower the number of F-16C/Ds to be ordered from 66 to 24 aircraft.
China Times and Liberty Times both reported that during a meeting between senior Taiwan and U.S. officials in the U.S., Deputy Minister of National Defense Andrew Yang and National Security Council (NSC) Deputy Secretary-General Lu Hsiao-jung proposed that Taiwan only acquire a squadron of 24 F-16C/Ds.
