Boeing gets into High Velocity Penetrating Weapon game

Boeing has become the latest entrant to join the U.S. Air Force High Velocity Penetrating Weapon program. The HVPW program aims to develop a 2,000-pound bunker-busting munition with solid-rocket propulsion and have the power equivalent of a 5,000-pound gravity bomb.

Private plane came close to Putin’s Mi-8

A report by Izvestiya newspaper said a private plane entered the airspace surrounding Russian President Vladimir Putin’s Mi-8 helicopter on May 26. The flight path is supposed to be cleared of any traffic when Putin is airborne.

Black Hawk crash kills 11 in Afghanistan

Seven Americans and four Afghans were killed when their Black Hawk helicopter went down during a firefight with insurgents in a remote area of southern Afghanistan on Thursday.
