Maj. Gen. Mohammed Fares, Syria’s first astronaut, told reporters that most of his country’s fighter pilots are grounded as President Bashar Assad are weary of their loyalty.
He said only about 30 percent of Syria’s pilots, or between 100 and 120, are involved in the bombing raids.
