The F-35 utilizes a complex maintenance and support system know as Autonomic Logistics Information System to keep the planes healthy. Earlier this year, the U.S. Navy succeeded in breaking into the system.
Cyber security experts were able to exploit a vulnerability in the system which separates both classified and unclassified data streams.
