A photo of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in a Blue Impulse T-4 trainer has upset South Korean media.
The jet has number 731 painted on it and the media pointed out that the number was the same number as that of a Japanese biological and chemical warfare unit that performed human experiments during the 1937-45 Sino-Japanese War and World War II.
A Defense Ministry official in Tokyo said the number was purely coincidental.
