SAIC employees were paid to sit around and play computer games at Nellis AFB, retired LTC said

Retired U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel, Timothy Ferner, said defense contractor SAIC had mislead the government in winning millions of dollars in Air Force contract work.

SAIC won a 2006 General Services Administration blanket purchase order or engineering and consulting services on “new products and emerging technologies.”

The Justice Department said in an announcement Wednesday that SAIC personnel provided false information to GSA contracting officials to win the blanket purchase order award.

Ferner said in a statement that SAIC staff were just sitting around at the Coalition and Irregular Warfare Center at Nellis Air Force Base and playing games.

SAIC has agreed to pay $5.75 million to settle the accusations. An SAIC spokeswoman said the company disputed Ferner’s complaint, but settled the case to avoided protracted litigation.
