Finland’s Minister of Defence has rejected the proposal by the Speaker of the Parliament to buy Saab’s Gripen fighter.
“Although I advocate co-operation with Sweden, we should not acquire Swedish JAS fighters when we could acquire American F-35 stealth fighters for roughly the same price. Performance must take precedence in the investment,” Carl Haglund said.

Which shows Finland needs a new Minister of Defence, who can understand aircraft should be also evaluated on operating costs, operational availability, reliability and the such.
