The Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) system successfully intercepted an intermediate-range ballistic missile target using an enhanced version of the Exoatmospheric Kill Vehicle (EKV) on Jun. 22.
Flight Test Ground-Based Interceptor-06b (FTG-06b) was the third attempt at intercept for the Capability Enhancement II EKV.
