Over the pass two years, the Indian Air Force’s Su-30MKI has been plagued with repeated engine failures in flight.
The failures have force the IAF to begin servicing of the AL-31FP engine at 700 hours instead of 1,000 hours. This coupled with unserviceable engines have reduced the operational effectiveness of the Su-30MKI.
