Two SM-6 interceptors successfully intercepted a supersonic and a subsonic cruise missile target using data supplied from another warship.
The ‘engage on remote’ scenario was tried out during the U.S. Navy’s Combat Ship System Qualification Trials.
USS Chancellorsville fired the missile while the targets were tracked by USS Sampson.
