The U.S. Air Force’s oldest C-130, a HC-130P with tail number 62-1863, was flown to the Boneyard at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base on Mar. 3.

The aircraft also had the distinction of having the second most number of hours flown, 27,533, in the C-130 fleet.
It began life as an ordinary C-130E before being converted into an EC-130C Airborne Command and Control Center. A final third modification lead to its eventual role as a HC-130P Combat King.
