China Precision Machinery Export-Import Corporation clarified that the Chinese media had misinterpreted a statement made by one of its executive at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition.
In the CCTV news report, the person said the FD-2000 had won the Turkish long-range air defense missile competition. CPMIEC said the executive was referring to the announcement by Turkey in 2013 that the HQ-9 was selected.
