Anonymous sources told Reuters that in the unfunded list that will be presented to lawmakers, the U.S. Navy wanted 12 Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornets and eight F-35s.

If approved, both acquisitions will cost the American taxpayers at total of around $2 billion.
The fresh order will help Boeing stretch the Super Hornet production line beyond the end of 2017.
