Thales says its new DRTLP (Demonstration Radar Tres Longue Portee) ballistic missile early warning radar (BMEWS) under development has more capabilities than the American AN/TPY-2.

The new radar operates in the UHF-band, which gives it a wider field-of-view compared to the AN/TPY-2 which runs on the X-band.
