Western aircraft manufacturers are keen on this tender, which is expected to be floated at the end of year, as Taiwan is looking at replacing 66 of its aging AT-3s.
Taiwan is keen to have most of the aircraft assembled locally thus Alenia Aermacchi has approached AIDC as a local partner whilst Lockheed Martin is in talks with Evergreen Group.
