DARPA has posted a solicitation for the industry to participate in the phase one of its Gremlins program – the demonstration of safe and reliable aerial launch and recovery of multiple unmanned aircraft.

The ideal UAV should be reused as many as 20 times while flying missions in contested airspace. It should be designed to fly in a pack and surviving aircraft will take over the mission profile of another UAV lost during the flight.
