Belarus says having a Russian air base in the country will worsen tensions

Belarus Minister of Foreign Affairs was quoted by Russia’s Kommersant newspaper that establishing a Russian air base “will lead to irritation toward both Minsk and Moscow.”

“We think there is no need to have a discussion on placing a base in Belarus.”

Earlier on, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, also rejected the idea of having an air base.
