Speaking to BFM TV, French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said the deal to sell 36 Rafales to India is not finalized yet, contrary to reports coming out from India.

“J’espère que ça pourra se faire. Ce n’est pas exclu mais ce n’est pas acté,” Le Drian was quoted as saying.
Another report from Reuters says both parties are now negotiating on options to buy more Rafales in future.
As per report, the price quoted for the sales package – inclusive of maintenance and weapons – is $9.1 billion.
