South Korea’s Defense Minister Han Min-koo has called for a review to consider the deployment of the THAAD air defense system in South Korea.

“Speaking from the military’s perspective, there’s enough need to review it because our (defense) capabilities are limited,” the defense minister said during his appearance in a news program by MBC, a mainstream broadcasting channel.
Previously, the South Korean government was cool to the U.S. suggestion to deploy the THAAD system in the Korean peninsular due to objections from China. All that changed after North Korea carried out its fourth nuclear test this month.
