Russia refutes Turkish claim that its Su-34 had entered its airspace

The Russia Defense Ministry says Turkey’s claim that one of Russia’s Su-34 fighter-bomber violated Turkish airspace was “unsubstantiated propaganda.”

The Turkish foreign ministry issued a statement earlier saying that a Russian SU-34 jet crossed into Turkish airspace at 11:46 local time on Jan. 29, the jet also ignored several warnings made in Russian and English.

Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov added that the jet seen on Turkish military radar could have been American as there was no visual confirmation of the aircraft.
