U.S. Senator John McCain has vowed to block the U.S. Air Force’s Long Range Strike-Bomber (LRS-B) program as it uses a cost-plus contract for procurement.
“I am saying I will not authorize a program that has a cost-plus contract — and I told them that,” McCain said at a Defense Writer’s Group breakfast in Washington, D.C.
However, House Armed Services Committee chairman, Mac Thornberry, doesn’t agree with his argument. If McCain wants to block the LRS-B with his version of the defense bill, it will have to reconcile with the House’s version.
