Under a Freedom of Information Act request, the Pentagon has admitted that its UAVs have flown over U.S. territory for non-military missions.

The report by the Pentagon inspector general said fewer than 20 such flights took place between 2006 and 2015 and no laws were broken.
In a separate story, officials told Fox News that such flights were carried out to aid first responders. One example was helping to extinguish forest fires in California in 2013.
