Apparently, the four U.S. Air Force A-10Cs now in Philippines flew to the contested Scarborough Shoal during their first air contingent mission on Apr. 19.

The official statement by the U.S. Air Force said the planes and two HH-60Gs were there to provide “air and maritime situational awareness.”
The first air contingent mission at Clark Air Base, Philippines is expected to last several weeks and U.S. Pacific Command will rotate assets from the Air Force or other services in future iterations.
