Australia cleared to buy up to 450 AIM-120Ds

The Obama administration has cleared a potential Foreign Military Sale to Australia for up to 450 AIM-120D air-to-air missiles.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency said in news release No: 16-19 that Australia will carry the newest variant of the AMRAAM on its F/A-18, E/A-18G, and F-35 aircraft.

Australia is the first export customer for the AIM-120D.
